The first time you walk into Hogwarts is truly magical

Going to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is amazing but seeing Hogwarts for the first time cannot be beat. Especially if you’re a Gryffindor.

Walking into Hogwarts the first time, you think you have your feelings in check. After all, you’ve seen a lot of magical things from your childhood before you get to this point. But that isn’t exactly true. As someone who has loved the Harry Potter series since I was 7, I was mentally prepared when going to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Or at least I thought I was. Seeing Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade is one thing. But going into Hogwarts and seeing Dumbledore’s office is something entirely different. At first, I thought it was going to be lame. Because it isn’t really Hogwarts.

Well, I was wrong. I saw the portrait of the fat lady and instantly started screaming. My family, who only knew Harry Potter because of what I’d told them, was confused. Why would I suddenly scream over a painting? Well because I knew what was behind said painting.

Since I was a kid, I’ve always been a Gryffindor. Not in the sense of “Harry, Ron and Hermione are Gryffindors and so I am too” but rather that I took multiple personality tests online confirming my housing choice. Even Rowling’s quiz told me I’m a Gryffindor.

So imagine my excitement when I turned the corner of Hogwarts and saw that familiar maroon and gold room. It is safe to say that I cried. But honestly, who wouldn’t? It is magical. Literally. And we grew up with this series. So yes, we love it more than anything else. It is just part of being a Harry Potter fan.

If you have the chance to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, you should. It is worth it for any Potter fan. Just be prepared for emotions, pictures, and wanting to spend a lot of money on all the Harry Potter merchandise you can find.
