What do we really know about the Marauders other than what Sirius and Lupin told Harry?

The Marauders are a fascinating group. We love them and their friendship but what do we really know about them other than what Harry was told?

Harry learned a lot about the Marauders but it is truly upsetting that we only really know of them through Harry’s eyes. That’s right, when you stop and think about it, we only know what Harry does. Nothing more.

And yet we are all fascinated by this group of friends and we long to see them in action. Too bad J.K Rowling hasn’t given it to us yet. It’s not that we didn’t get our fair share of three of the four members. We got a bit of Lupin, Sirius and Peter. But we never really got to know James or their friendships with one another.

Just imagine how wonderful it would have been to see them interacting in school that wasn’t just the memory Harry saw. Imagine seeing them being the Marauders we all dream they were. It’d be pretty incredible and honestly something I’d watch day in and day out. (Again Rowling, come on. Give us the Marauders!)

But really, it is just interesting to think about how we love them so much when we don’t really know much about them at that age. Sirius Black we love because of what he represents to Harry. We know Lupin the best of the three living Marauders and even then, we don’t know him well.

So wouldn’t it be fun if we were given just a bit more of a glimpse into the world we love so much? And with characters we adore? Who knows. Maybe it’ll be Rowling’s next project.
