Cardi B just took over with her single “Bodak Yellow.”

Following weeks of climbing up the charts with Taylor Swift at #1, Cardi B has become the first female rapper in nearly 20 years to nab the top spot on the Hot 100 chart.

On September 25, Noisey shared the news and revealed that Swift’s camp had allegedly attempted to keep “Look What You Made Me Do” at the top spot by lowering the price of the song on iTunes and sharing a making-of=the-video clip of the accompanying music video.

Continuing on, the report revealed that Swift was not only bummed from the number one spot, but also dropped an addition spot as Post Malone debuted his new song featuring 21 Savage, “Rockstar” at number two.

Taylor Swift’s fans teamed up with Nicki Minaj last week

As Fans of Swift previously reported, Swift and Minaj’s fans launched an online effort several days ago in an effort to promote “Look What You Made Me Do” and keep Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow” out of the top spot. However, despite their attempt at keeping the rapper from overtaking Minaj’s previous record for 2014’s “Anaconda,” Cardi B ultimately beat both of the singers’ previous records.

Cardi B may be a Taylor Swift fan

Earlier this week, a video surfaced on Twitter that showcased Cardi B singing “Look What You Made Me Do” in the back of a hired car with a female friend. In the clip, the rapper was heard singing very lightly to the song, as if she didn’t really want anyone to hear her voice.
