How exactly hot is Sirius Black meant to be?

We all know that Sirius Black was hot when he was younger. But exactly how hot is he meant to be when we meet him in Prisoner of Azkaban?

If you read the books, it is very clear that when Sirius Black was young, he was a looker. He was strikingly beautiful and it, in turn, led for problems for James, Remus and Peter. So then, as an adult, was Sirius just as attractive?

Personally, I think so. I remember seeing Gary Oldman take on the role and thinking that made perfect sense. Except for the fact that he is much older than Sirius was in the books. Still though, I thought he fit the bill.

Once insanely attractive, not still good looking but weathered by the struggles of life? I bought it. But who else could have portrayed Sirius differently? Maybe someone of the right age but still, there is something about the swagger that Oldman had that brought the character to life.

At the same time, a lot of Sirius Black was a carbon outline. Just the idea that Harry had of his godfather and nothing more. So a lot of our perspective of him is the same, except for what Oldman created for us.

So while I’m one of those people who truly wants more Sirius Black in my life, I think that we’d have to really examine the character and get to know more of what Sirius is. And also figure out just how hot Sirius is supposed to be.
