Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj have faced rumors of a feud in recent years but have they put their differences aside in an effort to keep Cardi B out of the #1 spot on music charts? Not quite, but their fans have.
According to a new report, Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow” has taken the music charts by storm and soon, she could bump Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” from the top honor.
On September 21, Capital FM revealed that while Swift and Minaj’s fanbases wouldn’t normally be put into the same category, they have allegedly joined forces in an effort to get Cardi B off the charts. As the outlet explained, Swift’s fanbase prefers that “Look What You Made Me Do” stays at #1 and doesn’t want to see “Bodak Yellow” bump her off.
As for how Minaj’s fanbase comes into play, they are reportedly up in arms after “Bodak Yellow” became the highest-charting song by a solo female rapper Nicki Minaj released “Anaconda” in 2014.
Nicki Minaj’s fans have joined the Taylor Swift Streaming Party
According to Capital FM, Swift and Minaj’s fans have teamed up in an effort to ensure that “Look What You Made Me Do” stays #1. They’ve even been using the #TaylorSwiftStreamingParty hash tag on Twitter to keep the buzz going about Swift’s latest track.
Nicki Minaj was accused of taking aim at Taylor Swift years ago
As fans may recall, rumors swirled in regard to a feud after Minaj suggested that acts were being nominated based on how they look, rather than their talent. Then, after Swift reportedly shot back at the rapper, Minaj confirmed that she was not taking aim at Swift.
