Outlaw King is having some troubles with the Scottish crew

The Scottish crew of Outlaw King is making significantly less than an American crew would. So obviously, they’re not too happy about it.

Outlaw King is the Netflix movie focusing on the life of Robert the Bruce, king of Scotland. While the movie is specific to certain fans (myself included) it also seems to be a beautiful story about someone we may not have heard of.

However, that is if the movie ever gets made. According to sources, there is a pay discrepancy with the Scotland based crew and there are talks of them not completing the work because of it. Which is, in turn, very upsetting for fans who’ve been following this story from the beginning.

This isn’t the first upset either. When the movie was first announced, it was set to be a reunion between Chris Pine and his Hell or High Water and The Finest Hours co-star Ben Foster. Without much of an explanation, Ben’s role suddenly went to Aaron Taylor Johnson and that seemed to be the end of it.

We’ve gotten very few set pictures and only know the bare minimum about the production. So the question is, does this bode well for the movie overall? Not particularly. It is a little frightening that everyone seems to be so in the dark about all of it.

Or maybe it is just a lack of interest in the film unless you’re someone like me who has been waiting for this movie since it was announced. Either way, it just seems as if this is incredibly in the dark for something with David Mackenzie on board and with Chris Pine starring.

Either way, I’m still personally very excited for Outlaw King and hope that everything gets sorted on the set. It’s Chris Pine with a Scottish accent married to Florence Pugh. What’s not to love about it? Check back here on Culturess for more news as it comes in!
