Lucy Davis is taking over our Wonder Woman loving hearts

While most of the Wonder Woman cast has taken over the world, there is something very special about our reaction to Lucy Davis as Etta Candy.

The cast of Wonder Woman has taken over the world just as Diana Prince did and Lucy Davis is no
exception. Playing the affable Etta Candy, Lucy has been on the scene for quite some time. She also played Dawn in the original The Office as well as starring in Shaun of the Dead. But her role as Etta has forced her into the spotlight into a way that has many of us so happy!

She’s an incredibly funny actress and brought a light to Etta that helped show the stark contrast between Diana and her freedom as a woman versus what Etta Candy and other women of 1918 were going through. With little lines about using her principles to win the vote or just how she managed to stand up against the idea of being just Steve Trevor’s ‘secretary’, we pretty much were obsessed with Etta Candy from the start.

Granted, a lot of characters in Wonder Woman are pushing the boundaries for that time period. Steve Trevor just lets Diana run the show half the time and that would have been unheard of during World War I. I’d like to think he reacts that way because he’s had Etta working for him for quite some time. Now that role could have very easily been diminished to a “here are my little jokes and then I’m not important,” but Lucy Davis brought a life to Ms. Candy that has stood the test of time.

It’s months later and we still are eager to watch Etta’s little trip down memory lane, “Etta’s Mission,” that the Wonder Woman PR team has been using to promote the DVD release. They know we’re obsessed with Lucy Davis and Etta Candy and they’re using it to their advantage. Can you blame them?
