Best GIFs of Emmy winner Kate McKinnon as Hillary Clinton (and a bonus RBG)
Celebrate Kate McKinnon’s Emmy win with the best GIFS of her Hillary Clinton impression.
Kate McKinnon won the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series at Sunday’s 69th Emmy Awards for her work on Saturday Night Live. Among her several delightful impressions and characters, McKinnon’s impression of Hillary Clinton stood out in a season marked by (award-winning) political impressions. (Her Bieber is also amazing, but that’s a topic for another post.)
There’s certainly something that makes her spot-on Clinton a little bittersweet to revisit, in light of how the election went down and the administration that took office as a result. Still, so many of the reactions remain wildly relatable, especially when presented in GIF form.
But first, let’s enjoy her acceptance speech, in which she jokes about her time on this season of SNL being the most meaningful thing she will ever do — “so I should just probably stop now” — and thanked Lorne Michaels (always thank Lorne!).
There’s something a little too on the nose about McKinnon getting cut off just as she starts to thank Clinton, “for her grace and grit.” But so it goes in the year of our lord 2017.
In any case, in the spirit of thanking Clinton and McKinnon both, here are our favorite GIFs of McKinnon-as-Clinton.
Let’s begin.
When you’re excited
When you’re frustrated
When you’re feeling vindictive
When you pivot
When you nail the landing
Bonus: When you’re actually Ruth Bader Ginsburg

Kate McKinnon is a national treasure and we’re glad she was duly rewarded at the 2017 Emmys. God willing, Hillary Clinton will stay just visible enough to continue to inspire the SNL writers, but far enough away from the public eye to maintain peace of mind.
