There’s lots of NYC Cursed Child advertising and is it necessary?

Is there anyone in the world who doesn’t know what Cursed Child is? Well, New York seems to think so with all the advertising.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is coming to Broadway. And you’d know that if you lived in New York City. Everywhere you look, there seems to be an advertisement for the show. Which begs the question: is it really necessary?

As someone who loves Broadway and thinking about everything that has been happening with shows closing, it is a little upsetting to see so much advertising for a show that definitely doesn’t need it. Having the name Harry Potter attached to it should carry it far enough.

Maybe it is because I just watched a show close and the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child billboard take its place but still, it truly hurts a bit. I just personally don’t see why there is such a push for something that has enough buzz.

The producers are probably just so excited for the inevitable cash grab the show will be, they’re willing to throw whatever into now to make sure everyone knows that Cursed Child is on the way. I just wish that most people would still remember the shows that were remaining on Broadway.

We have so little anymore with all the closings, I don’t want Harry Potter and the Cursed Child to result in me having bitter feelings because it ends up closing other shows in its path. Hopefully the producers realize the show’s ability to run on its own without having to do anything outrageous but we’ll have to wait and see what actually happens!
