Song of the Week: Look What You Made Me Do

Just a few short weeks ago Taylor Swift released her lead single for her sixth studio album reputation entitled “Look What You Made Me Do”.

In those few short weeks, the track has become one of our favorites. It’s a sassy yet harder anthem empowering others to let their voice be heard in the midst of pain. Isn’t that the whole purpose of the song? Swift speaks directly to her haters, letting them know that in the midst of the hate being thrown at her, she got stronger.

While empowering others to stand up for themselves, Swift broke records with “Look” and there’s no denying that after records were shattered, she is back and stronger than ever before.

Did you know that the song broke 13 records in just 24 hours? The song’s lyric video has become YouTube’s most viewed lyric video in history, it broke a Spotify records, an iTunes record, and a Vevo record. Not to mention, it is now the fastest and most viewed music video in YouTube and Vevo history. Did we mention that Swift did no interviews or performances to promote the song? Yes, we know, she is the queen.

Also, if the song isn’t brilliant enough, so is the music video. So brilliant that fans are creating theories about the album. Oh, and guess what? Swift has liked some of them. Does that mean they could be true?

I think by this point in our lives we’ve established that Swift is a genius. The song and music video proves this to be true. And yes, it is still on repeat. We hope you’re listening to it as much as we are.

Taylor Swift’s reputation is set to hit stores on November 10.
