Best part of DragCon? A drag queen dressed as Harry Potter

I went to DragCon and, hands down, the best part was when I saw a queen dressed as Harry Potter. It was pretty special overall!

Going to DragCon is exciting but did I expect to see a Harry Potter queen? Definitely not. But today, I saw quite a few queens coming out with their best Potter looks. Some where just random Hogwarts students, showing their school pride in whatever ways they could come up with.

Now it isn’t surprising. Most cons of whatever kind have some Harry Potter tie. Whether it be just a simple costume or a tattoo or even just talking about the series among other fans, it is always there.

So imagine how surprised I was when I suddenly saw a Harry in drag, it makes sense. This series is for the outcasts. Those who don’t think they fit in or those who want to find somewhere they belong.

So why wouldn’t there be a strong presence of Harry Potter fans at DragCon? It’s just a really nice thing to see. Especially as a Potter fan myself. I gasped and wanted to find other fans and join in on the fun.

I wish there was a picture of this beautiful person because it truly was a bright light in the moment and everyone should experience the magic of seeing a Harry Potter drag queen!

All of us Harry Potter fans are out there and we represent our love of the series in whatever ways we can. From dressing up like our favorite characters or getting tattoos, this series just means the world to us all. And at the end of the day, that’s what is most important. We just need to share our love of Harry and his friends.
