IT: The story of friendship and sad kids you didn’t expect to see

Who knew that IT was really about sad kids and their friendship? Well that’s what this movie focuses on in the remake and it is incredible.

A movie about friendship in the ’80s isn’t rare. We have a lot of them to pick from. But one movie I didn’t expect to really focus on friendship and sad kids, was IT. First of all, never did I think I was going to see this movie.

I’m not the biggest fan of horror movies and the idea of a movie with a clown that kills children and eats them wasn’t really appealing. But something about this trailer had me excited, and I love a good story about young boys trying to be friends.

So I buckled in and was pleasantly surprised by how sad these kids were. Now, let me clarify, the circumstances of the movie warrants these children be depressed. Georgie dies within the first few moments (that isn’t a spoiler alert). So Bill, Georgie’s brother, is trying to find his brother throughout this entire film.

While all their friends are dying, these kids have to band together to stop Pennywise from terrorizing the town. They’re stronger together and their strange little friendship with one another is what helps them defeat him.

Now granted, we still have chapter two to come. But for right now, this movie is just so surprising because these kids are so sweet and love each other. I went in thinking that I was just going to hate every moment of this movie. I was going to hate this clown and this story.

But to my surprise, the movie made me love these kids and I wanted them to succeed. We’ll have to see what happens to Bill, Eddie, Bev and everyone 27 years down the line!
