Furiosa is a dream to us all and we were so close to a Gal Gadot version of Mad Max. Lucky for us though, she got Wonder Woman.
Gal Gadot could have been in Mad Max Fury Road. That statement alone is cool but when you really think about Gal as Furiosa, it gets just that little bit better. Apparently Gal was up for the role that, eventually, went to Charlize Theron.
At the time, Gadot hadn’t yet booked Wonder Woman (or for that matter Batman v. Superman). When she didn’t get the part, she felt pretty down on herself. In a podcast for The Hollywood Reporter, Gal talked about seriously considering leaving Hollywood after losing the part to Theron.
"It just came to a point where I was like, ‘I don’t want to do this to my family. If it’s not going to work, why push it?’"
Lucky for us though, she was then contacted by Warner Brothers to audition for the role that would change her career. What was interesting about what Gal had to say was the fact that she was always second fiddle to a ‘name’ that would eventually get the parts she was up for.
So often we hear of now major celebrities struggling to make it because of the names they lost out to. So to hear that Gal Gadot, one of the biggest names around, also faced this struggle is both comforting and nerve wracking. Especially for aspiring artists.
But Gal eventually figured it out. She nabbed the role of Diana Prince in Batman v. Superman and from there, the rest is history!

In the long run, we’re lucky because her losing Furiosa gave us the Wonder Woman film we know and love! So sometimes, not getting what you want works out in the end. At least if you’re Gal Gadot.
