Taika Waititi kept liking my tweets on Twitter. I’m still confused

In the world we live in, it is about the little joys. And Taika Waititi liking a bunch of my tweets surely brought me some very necessary joy.

Taika Waititi is a gem. Not only is he an incredible filmmaker and actor, but he is also just a lot of fun. From his work as a director to his hilarious Twitter account, everyone is pretty obsessed with him. Especially now that he’s taking on Thor Ragnarok.

So where do I come into this story and why am I writing it? Well, let’s start with my obliviousness. I love the movie What We Do in the Shadows which Taika directed and stars in. I watched it and was confused to why everyone was suddenly talking about Taika.

Then I saw that he was directing Thor Ragnarok and flipped out. Since, everyone is rightfully enthralled by him. So much so that I saw a man on the train who very clearly got his look from Taika.

For those who don’t know, Taika’s had some pretty amazing looks. Like the fact that he wore a romphim to San Diego Comic Con. Complete with pineapples.

So when he liked my tweet, of course I went crazy and sent it to all my friends. And I obviously had to tell the internet I did that too.

I figured that would be the end but Taika had a different idea. He liked that one. Promptly ripping a whole in the time space continuum. But oh wait, that’s not all. Then I decided to post both together, a real pushing my luck if you will, and lo and behold, another like.

But you know what’s better than a like? When you get a response from Taika Waititi!

And so I ended my day by having a brilliamt filmmaker tell me that he could like my tweets all day and me calling him a prince.

But now, it seems, our Twitter friendship has paused. That’s okay though. For now, I will always remember the day that Taika Waititi liked a bunch of my tweets.
