We going in backward order as far as the songs that Kelly Clarkson sang on American Idol but that’s only because of how much ’00s trendiness was involved in each of her outfits. When Kelly sang “Stuff Like That There,” she was definitely showing off which era she was performing in on the show.

Kelly sang “Stuff Like That There” on Big Band Night while there were still six contestants left competing for first place. It was the same night that Christina Christian sang “The Glory Of Love” and was sent home. As with every other week on the show, Kelly stayed safe. One of the arguments to give her the win in the end against Justin Guarini was because she managed to never land in the bottom three and always gave such great performances in front of the judges.

While Clarkson definitely veered away from her typical outfit of boot cut pants and a wine or burgundy top, she still exudes style. She wore a fitted, off-the-shoulder black and white patterned dress with a flirty handkerchief hemline that was so popular back then.

She complimented that outfit with three rows of pearls around her neck that matched her button pearl earrings. Kelly changed her hair up for this song too. Instead of the typical messy updo, this time she went big. Half of her hair was swept up and all of it was curled into messy waves. The whole outfit looked like she was trying to pay homage to Bette Midler, who sang the song first.
