“Walk On By” was Kelly Clarkson’s song choice for week 5. Kelly rocked the Dionne Warwick hit just like she rocked all the songs she sang on her way to winning season 1 of American Idol.

Something many fans may not realize about Clarkson is that she managed to sail through the first AI competition without ever landing in the bottom three. Considering her amazing vocal skills, that’s not a complete surprise, but the competition was fierce and the rest of the contestants put up a fight every single week.

It was during this week that R.J. Helton was eliminated after he sang the Christopher Cross hit “Arthur’s Theme (Best That You Can Do).” Nikki McKibbin shared the bottom two with Helton and was in danger of elimination for the fourth time since hitting the top 10.

When Kelly performed “Walk On By” as part of the first American Idol top five, she was looking particularly ’00s-ey. She did switch it up a little bit that week, stepping away from the wines and burgundies with a fitted rose-colored camisole top. Clarkson paired the revealing shirt with a pair of her usual hip hugging boot cut pants. Her also typical updo and neutral toned necklace completed the look.

This outfit was one of the most revealing and sexiest of the outfits that Kelly Clarkson wore while competing on American Idol.
