New Star Wars Rebels season 4 trailer confirms premiere date

Thanks to a second trailer from Star Wars Rebels, we now know when the fourth and final season of the hit Disney XD show will premiere this fall.

The excitement surrounding Force Friday continues to deliver as Star Wars Rebels drops a second trailer for the new season. In addition, we also learned what the show’s premiere date will be Oct. 16.

Before we dive into some of the cool stuff we can expect to see in the fourth and final season of Star Wars Rebels, check out the trailer below.

As the show continues to tie into the original trilogy and (more excitingly) Rogue One, the Ghost Crew joins the Rebellion in the fight against the Empire. Of course, Grand Admiral Thrawn also continues to be a threat as Ezra and Kanon adjust to their new way of life. Perhaps what may stick out to fans, even more, is the callbacks to ‘Stardust.’ In Rogue One, Galen Erso used his nickname for his daughter, Jyn Erso, as a code to allude to the Death Star’s weakness.

More importantly, Star Wars Rebels will finally bring some of the most famous aircrafts in Star Wars to the fight. Obviously, I’m talking about X-Wings, the original and most competent forms of space battle. No offense, Millennium Falcon.

Though, if you’ll note in the tweets above, Henry Gilroy also mentioned another piece of the Star Wars Rebels puzzle that needs to be completed. Ahsoka Tano’s fate continues to be teased, with fans desperate to see her story “completed” in season 4. Admittedly, when I say completed, I’m only pointing out that Ahsoka only lives in animation right now. To really tell her story, I’d love to see her hit the big screen, too.
