Chris Evans reunited with his dog and the internet loves it

Chris Evans has been away from home for weeks for a movie shoot and on Sunday he shared how his dog reacted when they were reunited. Spoiler alert: It went well.

Long distance relationships are hard. Technology like video chatting has helped, but when you’re a dog, it can be a little tricky to set up FaceTime. Lucky for Chris Evans’ dog Dodger, the time apart is over, and the world can’t get enough.

On Sunday, Chris blessed the online world on Twitter with a precious video capturing the moment the actor returned home to Dodger after being away for 10 weeks shooting a movie. It’s unclear what movie Evans was working on, but the Hollywood Reporter guessed maybe Avengers 4. In the video, Dodger clearly can’t believe his human is back home. Watch the joyful reunion below (but maybe grab a box of tissues first, just in case):

Adorable, right? As of this writing, the post had nearly 50, 000 retweets and 182,000 likes.

It’s not the first time the self-proclaimed “dog lunatic” has shared a sweet story about Dodger. He actually adopted the pup during the filming of another movie, The Gifted. Talking to People back in April, Evans described how he and Dodger first met:

"“One of the last scenes we were filming was in a pound, a kennel,” Evans tells PEOPLE. “I foolishly walked in and I thought, ‘Are these actor dogs or are these real up for adoption dogs?’ And sure enough they were, so I was walking up and down the aisles and saw this one dude and he didn’t belong there. I snagged him and he’s such a good dog. They aged him at about one, he acts like a puppy, he’s got the energy of a puppy, he’s just such a sweetheart, he’s such a good boy. He loves dogs, he loves kids, he’s full of love.”"

Before Sunday’s post, Evans also seemed to be counting down the days until he could be with his dog again:

Now the two are back together and they were kind enough to share this little moment of joy with all of us.
