George Miller’s Justice League was almost the Wonder Woman v. Superman we never wanted! Or maybe we did? Too bad we’ll never know.
Ever want to see Superman break Wonder Woman’s wrists? No? Well, me neither. So maybe we should be grateful that we didn’t get George Miller’s Justice League. The mysterious movie that would have given us Armie Hammer as Batman (we’re still gunning for him to be Hal Jordan) never came to be.
And from what we’re hearing about the story, I’m personally very glad. Jay Baruchel was going to play the villain in the movie and opened up to MTV recently about the battle between Diana and Clark. Now here’s what I don’t want to see, a superhuman battle where Superman destroys Wonder Woman.
But that’s what the movie would have given us. In a vicious fight, the two would have been hypnotized and gone after one another. Many are arguing that that would have been a better battle than what happened in Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice but I disagree.
Yes the “Martha” thing kind of sucked but we got amazing Diana moments and we got Henry Cavill cooking eggs shirtless with just grey sweatpants on. So what isn’t to like? Lucky for us though, we never have to be subjected to Miller’s take on Wonder Woman or Joss Whedon’s take on her. We get to live in the world that Geoff Johns and Patty Jenkins created for us.
To be fair, apparently the introduction to Diana would have been worth it but I know that I, personally, do not want to see any fight where she is left with broken wrists because of Superman. After all, they’re supposed to fall in love when Lois and Steve aren’t around.
