If you thought the diamonds in Taylor Swift’s diamond bath were fakes, you’ve got a lot to learn about Swift!
According to a new report, the dimaonds seen in Swift’s new music video for “Look What You Made Me Do” were totally authentic and cost well over $10 million. That said, Swift didn’t purchase the diamonds for production. Instead, they were on loan from popular celebrity jewelry designer Neil Lane.
“The hundreds of carats in jewels — including those in the tub and that Swift is wearing (and biting) — are worth well over $10 million” and there was an “insane” amount of security involved in the making of the “Look What You Made Me Do” music video, a Page Six source revealed.
Neil Lane speaks out about Taylor Swift’s diamond bath
“I had to go to the vault for this one,” Lane said of the clip. “They wanted an over-the-top, glamorous look so we gave them unprecedented access to my collection. And wow what an amazing turnout, diamonds have never looked better!”
Included in the massive amount of diamonds seen in the video were several vintage and period pieces, including a snake wrapped around Swift’s finger. Ironically, Page Six revealed, the item appeared to be the same piece worn by Zoe Saldana during the 2013 Academy Awards.
Swift was also seen wearing a second snake ring on her other hand, which goes along with the theme of the video.
Why was the bathtub scene significant?
While nothing has been confirmed, many have assumed that the scene is poking fun at Kim Kardashian’s robbery in Paris last October. As Us Weekly revealed at the time, Kardashian was tied up in the bathtub and robbed of, you guessed it, $10 million worth of jewelry.
