Game of Thrones season 8: 5 early predictions for the final season

5. Daenerys and Drogon will go toe-to-toe with Viserion and the Night King
We talked this week about why Viserion died, narratively speaking, but we didn’t take a look at the now-undead dragon’s future.
We’re taking that look now.
With Daenerys headed north and the Night King headed south, a second clash between the two of them is practically inevitable, and we think that she is going to be a little better prepared this time. (Armor would still help, Dany! Yes, we’ve been harping on this all season, and no, we are not going to stop harping on it.)
Whether or not she’ll come away with a victory is a prediction we’re not ready to make at this point. Would a victory look like putting Viserion to rest once and for all? That would probably be the second-lowest bar to clear to qualify. The lowest would be not getting killed because of her lack of armor.
Told you we weren’t going to stop talking about it. Look, we take these things seriously.
Anyway, although the Scorpion/ballista design is floating around in the world, that’s part of Cersei’s arsenal, and she’s very clearly not in the mood for sharing. Really, the best way for Dany to counter the dragon is with … well … dragons.
