Bottle Shock: A movie that is definitely a dark horse

Now Bottle Shock isn’t a new movie but it is one that is a historical film that you probably never saw. And you should! It is pretty fun!

Bottle Shock is a weird time for fangirls and boys. First, we have Snape as a wine connoisseur. Then there is Chris Pine as a hippie with Jessica Jones’s best friend Trish Walker and the president (Bill Pullman) is Chris Pine’s dad.

Intrigued yet? Well, I went into this movie not knowing it was a true story so color me surprised when it got to the end of the movie and started telling me the real life conclusion that happened. It was quite the ‘bottle shock’ if you will.

The movie itself is pretty great. Just about how the California wine country became respected in the wine community. Truly, the movie comes off as being just a lovely story about respect and wine. But the fact that it is an actual real life thing baffles me.

Maybe that’s the point of the movie. This silent rise in the wine community came with no one knowing. So maybe we’re supposed to think this is a magical thing that would be lovely if it happened. Surprise to us, it really did!

Who knows though, it might be a very famous story that I just didn’t know beforehand. But I had no idea that Bottle Shock was anything to do with a real life thing. I went into it for Chris Pine and came out wishing I had a bottle of that wine!

Next: Celeste and Jesse Forever is a better movie than we give it credit for

If you haven’t seen it, I highly suggest it. It’s a great Alan Rickman movie and it also features Bill Pullman and Chris Pine. So really, there is nothing to lose!
