Game of Thrones season 7 finale: Who will die?

As a surprisingly light on major character deaths season 7 of Game of Thrones concludes on Sunday night, here’s who we’re thinking may not make it to the end.

Another season of Game of Thrones is drawing to a close, setting up the final few episodes of this epic series (that we now know GRRM *does* watch). Luckily for us, from the preview of this episode it seems as though there are even more major characters converging in one place than last week… which is a lot. So now, in our last installment of the season, we predict who will make it to S8 E1 and who, well, won’t.

The Wight

Sure, it might seem like a cheap death to predict, but there is no chance that thing survives its journey to King’s Landing. While we’re sure it will be killed after proving that the war against the army of the dead is real, what we’re really interested in is seeing who it spooks in the mean time. Speaking of dead things…

The Mountain aka Robert Strong

Did no one (no, we don’t mean Arya) mention to Jon, Dany, or any of their throngs of advisors that Cersei might already believe in wights seeing as how she has an undead behemoth as her personal bodyguard? Regardless, this meeting of so many major characters means that someone, or in this case some thing, has to go. We’re guessing that one way or another, a trial by combat will be prompted. While Cersei has been waiting two seasons to bring the wrath of the Mountain down upon her foes as her champion, a certain younger brother may just stand in his way. And we don’t mean Tyrion… #CLEGANEBOWL #GETHYPE #WHATISHYPEMAYNEVERDIE

Yara

Everyone seems to think that Theon will be making a big sacrifice to redeem himself and save his sister. However, Euron still has a great amount of evil to do if he is going to, as we’ve been led to believe by the show runners, be more wicked than Ramsay Bolton this season. We’re anticipating that Yara gets the kraken’s axe before Theon does, prompting him to make the sacrifice he should have aboard the boat. Which brings us to…

Euron

There are only six episodes left in the entire series, and we seem to be poised to spend most of that time dealing with war against the Night King. What is dead may never die, and Euron is about to witness that firsthand. For as big of a psychopath as he seems to be, he’s has never had to deal with anything that’s actually terrifying. Theon, however, has not only witnessed but been the plaything of (arguably) the most vicious character on GoT. We’re praying to the Drowned God that Theon, inspired by his uncle’s cruelty and fear, sends Euron to Davy Jones’ locker. Or, whatever the Westrosi equivalent might be… Salladhor Saan’s locker? The Shrouded Lord’s? Patchface?

Littlefinger

We’re hoping, no, praying to the Many-Faced God that Arya adds Petyr Baelish’s face to her satchel. After a season pitting Stark sisters against one another, we’re at an interesting position with a lot of elements in play: the lords at Winterfell all seem to be getting anxious; the knights of the Vale are still in play; Sansa wants to be queen and hide a hostage’s letter; a dagger of the utmost importance has been highlighted all season; Arya wants, well, something; and in case you forgot Bran aka Chekhov’s Wheelchair literally knows everything. Littlefinger has always been able to out-scheme his opponents (see Arya and Sansa ALL FREAKING SEASON) due to his foresight and experience, and while chaos is a ladder, Bran has already proven he’s capable of fighting every battle, everywhere, always, in his mind.

The Wall

We just hope it doesn’t fall on “Dolorous” Edd Tollett.
