If you were hoping to see Taylor Swift and Katy Perry making amends during Sunday night’s 2017 MTV Video Music Awards, you shouldn’t hold your breath.
While anything is possible, a producer of the show recently spoke out about the singers’ alleged duet, claiming that it isn’t happening.
“That’s not happening as far as (I know),” Garrett English told Entertainment Tonight, according to a report by Metro on August 24. “I’ve certainly seen all the rumours flying but that’s not happening.”
The MTV VMAs are excited to have Katy Perry as host
While a potentially ground-breaking moment between Swift and Perry isn’t in the works, the network is excited to welcome Perry as the host of the show in Los Angeles this weekend.
“We’re incredibly lucky to have her,” English said. “Obviously she has a great heritage with the show, our brand, our audience. So it’s a very easy conclusion for us. She’s been lovely and we’re having a fantastic week putting it all together.”
Taylor Swift may be refusing to reconcile with Katy Perry
Earlier this month, while appearing on SiriusXM’s The Morning Mash Up, Perry revealed that she and Swift have yet to speak about their possible reconciliation.
“Listen, I’d love for the beef to end. I’d love to take it off the BBQ… I’m down, but I haven’t heard anything of it,” Perry said, according to a report by Us Weekly on Monday.
Perry’s request to make amends with Swift comes just weeks after the singer released an alleged diss track against Swift titled “Swish, Swish.”
