The Tony winner for Best New Musical and Best Actor, Dear Evan Hansen, is getting a new face. And this time, you’ve probably seen him around.
Dear Evan Hansen has taken the world by storm. Much like Hamilton the year before, everyone can’t stop talking about the Tony winner for Best New Musical. You know who else they can’t stop talking about? Star and Tony winner for Best Actor in a Musical, Ben Platt!
Unfortunately for fans though, Ben is departing the show. Starting this November, there will be new blood at Dear Evan Hansen and you’ve probably seen them around. Starting in November (after Ben’s departure), Noah Galvin will be taking over.
You probably recognize him from The Real O’Neals. He’s adorable and I truly think he’ll be a great Evan. Taking over the role in mid-January is a Broadway veteran who has certainly made his rounds. Taylor Trensch will be taking on Evan once Galvin leaves. There is currently no end date in sight for Taylor.
The thing about this show is that it reaches a specific audiences and moves them to tears. And maybe it’s not really super specific but it still, in my opinion, is one of those shows that can change someone’s life. Some people are going to see it and think “Oh yeah, that’s fine” and others are going to talk about it for years to come.
No matter which kind of person you are, now you know who you’ll see telling Evan’s story. And don’t worry, you still have some time to get to see Ben Platt take on the role. You just have to make it to New York before Nov. 19. Otherwise, Noah and Taylor will surely not disappoint!

We can’t wait to see them take on Dear Evan Hansen. It’ll be quite some journey.
