You know what’s cuter than Baby Groot? His stand-in!

Baby Groot surely took our hearts, but you know what’s even better? Seeing how they made those scenes with our favorite little guy!

The world loves baby Groot. There is no denying that. But behind the scenes footage from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 show us that our little Groot isn’t the only star. In fact, as Hello Giggles reports, his stand in is absolutely adorable!

Did you ever think about a ten inch replica of baby Groot trying to run around the set of Guardians of the Galaxy? Well you certainly will now! In the video, we see what it took for James Gunn and the creative forces behind the movie to create shots with such a small character!

And guys, it’s great. It is literally just normal guys running with a Groot figurine. It’s everything we could have wished for and more.

As you can see in the footage, Gunn explains that it was a delicate balance with baby Groot. He’s adorable, we love him, we want one for our own, but he also murders people. Looking at the filming logistically, it seems impossible.

And they touch on that in the features. Chris Pratt and Dave Baptista are both more than six feet tall! So to have their scene partner be a ten inch little tree man and a raccoon? They had their work cut out for them.

Lucky for us though, the movie looks incredible and gave us the cutest little dancing guy our hearts have ever seen. Now in the next movie, it seems like he’s going to be a teenager and that’s a little disappointing. For me personally, I’d just like to have a whole movie dedicated to baby Groot!
