Dumbledore and Grindelwald’s relationship and Fantastic Beasts
We all love Dumbledore, and we all know Dumbledore loved Grindelwald! But how will their relationship be portrayed in the upcoming Fantastic Beasts sequel?
We got a little insight into Dumbledore and Grindelwald’s relationship towards the end of the Harry Potter series. The discovery was also made that the two of them had a very long and twisted history together, right from their first meeting.
When they first met, they became fast friends. But that friendship quickly turns into something dark and ultimately ends in a duel to the death. Unfortunately, the only death that comes from the duel is that of Albus’ sister, Ariana.
Dumbledore himself admits that this period of his life was just about the darkest. It’s a time when Albus allowed the darkness in his heart and soul to make the decisions for him. When power was what he wanted most and so he allowed Grindelwald to lure him with the temptation of the ultimate power.
Losing his sister and his relationship with his brother is definitely part of what changed Albus’ life course. He never again allowed the darkness to rule his decisions and became one of the most famous wizards in the world.
The Fantastic Beasts
We know the Fantastic Beasts sequel is going to delve deeper into the relationship between Dumbledore and Grindelwald. Hopefully, this will lead us to a better understanding of the relationship between the two and how it turned so quickly.
We also want to see a bit more of the good times between Albus and Grindelwald. Every fan would love to see a point in time that Albus was truly happy during his younger years. Especially since we know that was not a happy time in his life.

Naturally, everything happy will have an ending, and unfortunately we all know the one between these two wizards was not a happy one. But we all have to admit the excitement over getting to see the duel between the two. Seeing a young Dumbledore in all his glory and strength will be an amazing sight.
