Wizards and the solar eclipse: Imagine if it was all just a Weasley joke

facebooktwitterreddit

It is fun to think about the wizarding world interacting with regular life nowadays but think of how they’d react to the solar eclipse.

The solar eclipse took over our world yesterday. Everyone was suddenly a scientist and wanted to see the moon in front of the sun. But what would the wizards think about such a scientistic thing?

Arthur Weasley would probably have had a party to watch how everyone reacted to it. Fascinated by the muggle world’s obsessed with science (but only cool science). Or what if it was all a joke to mess with the muggles?

That one is a little more fun to think about. What if Fred and George really wanted to torment the muggle world and put the eclipse up as a joke and it got a lot bigger than they ever expected? That’d be on brand for them but also just a fun little thing to think about.

In reality we know that a) the wizarding world isn’t really there (or maybe it is) and b) it is still science. They’d probably love watching it just as much as the rest of us. But it’s cooler to think of it like the wizards are too good for normal science when they’re wizards.

The best though would be a joke. Maybe George made it happen as a ode to his brother. A huge joke for the best brother in the world. Fred would have been proud that George got millions of people to almost blind themselves by staring directly into the sun.

Either way, the wizarding world doing things we do is a fun thing to think about!
