Celebrate Stranger Things just-announced third season with this fan-made mash-up

We just found out Stranger Things is getting a third season. To celebrate, let’s appreciate YouTube user Josh Nitsche, who added some extra thrills to the Stranger Things ‘Thriller’ trailer.

Stranger Things season 2 is just a couple of months away, believe it or not. And we just found out there will officially be a season 3 (the Duffer brothers confirmed the news in an interview Vulture published on Monday and said they’re planning for the show to run four seasons in total). If you’re like me, you watched the Super Bowl and legitimately thought it would take centuries for Oct. 31 to roll around and bring Stranger Things season 2 to Netflix. However, the time actually flew by, and the release date was moved up to Oct. 27.

Of course, if this were Toy Story, you’d be pretty upset about the sudden date change. But since Stranger Things came out of nowhere, became one of last year’s biggest hits, and ended on a pretty annoying cliffhanger, we forgive Netflix for making such a wise decision. Even if it’s only four days.

Anyway, to tide us over until then, expect the Stranger Things coverage to ramp up. We recently got a new trailer, set beautifully to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” And now, we’ve got a mash-up of said trailer.

However, this isn’t your average fan-made mash-up. Instead, it may be a little scarier than you’re used to. On brand with the rest of Stranger Things, this mash-up adds some iconic horror villains to the mix, like Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees.

Now, as the world’s biggest chicken, I can watch this in appreciation of the creativity without understanding a number of references in it. Just like when I watched Stranger Things season 1. Though, I cannot imagine what life would be like if I was constantly terrorized by these things. Like, at what point does Will just kind of throw his hands up and decide to commit himself?

But I guess if you really think about it, the intrigue of horror movies comes from seeing how people like Will and his friends defeat the evil. So if you took all the heroes from all those horror movies shown, and then added Eleven, I’m pretty sure Will would end up being just fine.
