2. Arya will take Littlefinger’s face

We talked about this a little last week, guessing that “Sansa and Arya will band together.” Now that Sansa has gotten an explanation about what exactly Arya was doing while she was away, she might think of a way to put that to use…

Spoilers:

The famous rumors suggest that Sansa puts her brother’s powers to use to figure out what’s going on, and then Arya kills Littlefinger with official sanction of the Lady of Winterfell.

Spoilers end.

But the problem is that if Sansa loses Littlefinger, she then loses those all-important soldiers, who are loyal to her in turn. She needs them, after all. However, she might very well believe her sister’s story, and if Arya has Littlefinger’s face, it’s like Petyr Baelish never left, but without all the sneaking and conniving. The season has set this up already with letting Arya pose briefly as Walder Frey.

Additionally, having a faux Littlefinger lets Sansa leverage his connections and money as she pleases, effectively making her the guardian of the Vale. She could even go a little further if she really wanted. Poor Robin Arryn has never been healthy, has he?

Remember, Sansa currently doesn’t know that Jon has chosen to serve Daenerys. Her primary focus is still to secure the North for him by any means necessary, and if she can secure the North and the Vale, then she’s done more than he could ever ask for.
