Watch this LEGO Justice League trailer test the limits of your imagination

A little creativity goes a long way when it comes to remixing the already awesome Justice League trailer, but here are a few of our favorite mash-ups.
Remixing trailers for blockbusters films is like a fun nerd sport, but there are always a few that stand out (because they’re often done by professionals). While some parodies really hold up, I prefer something a little more genuine than Honest Trailers. Not because they’re not legitimate, but sometimes, it just sucks the fun out of it. Plus, stretching one’s creative muscles to create things like Shrek Ragnarok or a video claiming that 20th Century Fox is moving the moon for us on Monday shows a real passion within the fandom.
And since most of my passion lies with DC Comics and Star Wars, I usually get swept up in YouTube vortex of remix videos. There are a ton of great ones out there, but somehow I’m always caught off guard by how capable LEGO is. Like, as a toy.
They’ve made two full-length films compromised almost entirely out of LEGO, and I still am shocked that they have pieces for nearly everything. If you can think it, LEGO can build it. And if LEGO can build it, you can probably remake the SDCC Justice League trailer shot for shot.
Check it out:
Admittedly, the first thing I noticed was the Hermione Granger piece in her Hogwarts uniform. But then they did the gunshot in slow motion and I stopped worrying about it. Although, that wouldn’t be unusual to see that piece for two reasons — 1) Harry Potter and Justice League come from the same studio, Warner Bros. and 2) Diana’s in London, where Hermione could apparate to as easily as flying a broom.
But the thing I love most is the end where they clearly decided to go with a red cape for whomever Alfred is talking to at the end. I’ve seen some arguments that it’s possibly brown or some other color, too. My top guesses (that I’d be okay with) happen to be Supergirl (those legs, though!), Shazam, Green Lantern (they already name dropped the Lanterns), Steppenwolf looking for a Mother Box, or just Superman. I know that’s not the right color for Shazam’s cape, but he’s the only one officially on the docket they could use. It could also be Supergirl because Geoff Johns has been candid about bringing in more women. Yes, she has a TV counterpart, but I’m pretty sure her DCEU counterpart would outshine her any day of the week. Whereas, I don’t think they want someone like DCEU Martian Manhunter to compete with his own TV character.
Then there’s this one, which just mixes animated pieces from all over the DC Comics series and films:
However, this one is just way too ahead of the DCEU. The trailer showcases the Watchtower and everything. While Batman may be a billionaire, he certainly can’t build a space station in just a matter of months.
Now, this isn’t the same SDCC Justice League trailer, but it’s important to the Marvel vs. DC debate that you either take part in or try to ignore. Naturally, this trailer perfectly proves how similar a lot of the elements are on both sides. But to me, DC just feels so much grander in scope. And like Kevin Feige and Jarvis-not-Jarvis point out, a little bit of rivalry is natural and welcome.
