James Potter and Sirius Black: Why we love them

When it comes to friendships in Harry Potter, there is no shortage but the friendship between Sirius Black and James Potter is very special to me.

James Potter and Sirius Black were the kind of best friends you long to have in your life. They were more like brothers than just friends and it is a bond that even death couldn’t break. But there is something more to the two of them that makes me, personally, love them so much.

Basically these two would go to the ends of the earth together and always have each other’s back. And maybe that’s because James was there for Sirius when his family was not but it truly is inspirational. Who doesn’t want a friendship like that?

I mean it all boils down to the fact that they truly love each other. Not in a romantic way but in a “this is my best friend and I would die for him if I could” way. And it is something that is specific to the Harry Potter series. With most things we watch, their love and friendship isn’t necessarily defined this way.

But in this series, everyone would sacrifice themselves for one another. Granted, that isn’t exactly healthy but still, it is interesting to see friends so dedicated to one another. And with the Marauders, it is even more so. Because with the exception of Peter, these three men would stop at nothing to make the other happy.

So will we ever see a separate series with Lupin, Sirius and James running around? At this rate, probably not. But we definitely want it. These are three friends we know and love and I wish J.K Rowling would give us the Marauders series we deserve.
