Finally, some good news this week. RuPaul’s Drag Race contestants get their own show, and it’s the best possible way to end this week.
RuPaul’s Drag Race is enjoying the success of a handful of Emmy nominations (eight, to be exact). So, this news couldn’t come at a better time. Former contestants Trixie Mattel and Katya are getting their own spin-off on Viceland, thank goodness. This is exactly the talk show that America needs right now.
Currently, the two fan-favorites have their own show, UNHhhh on the World of Wonder YouTube channel. Here, they chat and dissect all sorts of topics, much to my (and many other viewers’) delight. Self-described as “a show about nothing, and yet it’s about everything,” its success has now landed them their very own show on a network.
Truthfully, I don’t even really need to know the premise because I could listen to Katya read assembly instructions to an IKEA shelf and be perfectly entertained.
Viceland knows what it’s getting with these two funny ladies, calling it, “a hilarious hybrid of late-night, daytime, and advice shows.” The new endeavor, also produced by World of Wonder, is aptly titled The Trixie and Katya show, and is set to premiere Nov. 1.

If you don’t know who Katya and Trixie are, you are clearly not living your life right. As two of the most beloved contestants in Rupaul’s Drag Race history, Katya and Trixie are proving that drag fits nicely into the mainstream. Katya is the blonde, bendy one and is always ready with the snark and wit. Trixie, on the other hand dresses like her life depends on it, and all I want to do with my adult life is be her friend.
