This Kingsman: The Golden Circle promo wants you to believe they orchestrated the solar eclipse

Taking advantage of the moment, 20th Century Fox launched a promo detailing how they orchestrated the solar eclipse to promote Kingsman: The Golden Circle.

On Monday, the moon and sun will align in such a way that the moon will be blocking out the sun for about two minutes. Only some parts of the country are going to be able to see its entire majesty, but everyone seems to be pretty excited for the eclipse nonetheless.

But you know who’s most excited? Fox. And by association, the Kingsman.

Since Kingsman: The Golden Circle opens in theaters on Sept. 22, Fox decided to use this Monday’s actual golden circle to promote their film. For some reason, this movie still feels very niche, despite the fact that it’s a refreshing entry in the spy genre that grossed a respectable $414.3 million at the box office. I mean, how many cool trailers do they have to roll out in order to get on everyone’s radars?

To acquire more cinematic “leverage,” if you will, the marketing team at Fox will be pushing the moon over just a smidge to prepare for the “Golden Circle.” And as you can see below, it’s not exactly an easy feat.

Check it out:

Once Guy Miller, the director of market research, has an “eclip-phany,” he realizes that an eclipse would be perfect attention-grabber for their key demographic. Of course, this demographic encompasses quite a lot of people, too, seeing as it pertains to anyone who knows about the sun or moon.

With 100,000 tons of liquid hydrogen and nitrogen tetroxide (science!) and 22 million pounds of thrust, the Kingsman: The Golden Circle team realizes it’s not that hard to move the moon. Apparently, none of them are smart enough to make a shrink ray, hmm?

As great as this is, it’s too bad that as I’m writing this, it only has like six thousand views on YouTube, soooo … Kingsman: The Golden Circle hits theaters on Sept. 22.
