If this preview for Riverdale season 2 tells us anything, it’s that we are absolutely not equipped for what’s going to happen.
Riverdale‘s second season arrives on Oct. 11. With a tip of the hat to Uproxx, we now have another look at what’s to come.
Let’s try and boil our many, many questions down into three below the video here. That’s a safe number.
Is Veronica seriously jumping Archie in the shower?
It looks like things will heat up between Archiekins and Ronnie, though we don’t know what exactly prompts the look on her face as she opens the shower curtain. Although we don’t fully see the face of the mysterious bather, Veronica and Archie have gotten physical rather quickly. The only other person it might be is Nick St. Clair, who’s coming to Riverdale and has a history with Veronica, but we think that’s Archie’s jawline. Additionally, TVLine reports that Nick’s only in two episodes of more than 20.
What’s Betty throwing in front of her mother?
That stack of papers makes us think that Betty has broken another big story, even without Jughead at school with her anymore. Does it have to do with her older brother, given up for adoption since Alice Cooper was in high school when he was born? (Is the big secret that the baby wasn’t Hal’s, but rather F.P. Jones’? Because those two have a past, and we’d like to know what that past is.)
Who’s going to court?
For a brief moment, you can see a courtroom, with a judge in session and everything. Is it a criminal case or a civil one? Presumably the answer is “criminal,” although Jason Blossom’s killer is dead and can’t be charged with all of his other crimes. The other obvious response would be F.P.; you can briefly spot him sitting in what looks like an interrogation or visitation room, across from presumably his public defender.

So, as a secondary question, how will that trial play out, if it is that trial we’re watching? As a tertiary question, how will it impact Jughead in particular?
