Dorothy at Town Cats in Morgan Hill, California
Somewhere over the rainbow, Dorothy is looking for her furever home. Her tuxedo coat and white paws may not be the same as red, glittery slippers, but we’re pretty sure this senior cat has thought, “There’s no place like home” at least once or twice.
Like her namesake, Dorothy is very independent. She likes catnip, toys, and being pet on the head, preferring humans to other cats. According to her adoption page, she’s a “strong willed gal … who has some gumption and a soft side to her.”
Sounds an awful lot like the Dorothy we love from The Wizard of Oz! She may not be interested in Toto, but she’d surely be a great companion on a quest down the Yellow Brick Road. Human companionship is important for older cats, and at 16 years, Dorothy deserves all the love.
She’s been at the shelter since January 2016. Clear the Shelters is a great opportunity to meet her, fall in love, and give her a comfortable place to be for the last few years of her life. Reluctance to adopt senior pets leaves many of them in shelters for far longer than they should be, which is unfair to these sweet beans. Just look at that face! How can you say no to bringing home such a gorgeous, curious girl?
If you think Dorothy may be a good fit for you, please see the shelter information below.
