Jessica Jones and Luke Cage back together, working through their issues

One of the best parts of Jessica Jones was her arc with Luke Cage. Mike Coulter was fantastic as Luke Cage, bringing Jessica Jones into a world of superheroes with one we haven’t seen just yet.

And Sweet Christmas, what an addition he was. He brought levity and badass-ness in a show that already had some, but apparently not enough. He was calm and collected and cool and balanced out Jessica’s sarcasm.

Things ended poorly between these two. It turns out Kilgrave made Jessica kill Luke’s wife, and when he finds out, his response is about what you would expect.

Since they last encountered each other, Luke has gone on to start a thing with Claire Temple. And also is currently in jail.

Basically, it’s going to be interesting to see how they respond to each other after that ending and now that Luke/Claire is a thing (hey, she was getting letters from him from jail during Iron Fist!). Jessica will probably mask everything with sarcasm and Luke will try to avoid the awkward social pitfalls.

Meanwhile, all of the other Defenders will wonder what the heck is going on between them. They’ll need to unite and work as a team, so they’ll have to confront their past at some point. It will just depend on if everyone else is witness.
