Is Taylor Swift and Katy Perry feud all for show?

Although the two women appear to be majorly at odds with one another at the moment, a shocking new report has surfaced online, which claims that the singers may actually perform alongside one another at the upcoming 2017 MTV Video Music Awards.

“She’s hosting this year’s MTV Video Awards,” a BBC report said of Perry, according to a report by Hollywood Life on August 15. “Where she’s also expected to pick up a load of awards AND is rumoured to be performing alongside Taylor Swift.”

The duet “would be a life-changing moment for pop fans all over the world,” the outlet continued.

Fans are flipping out (understandably)

“Honestly if those two perform together,” one fan wrote, “I’m calling b.s. on all the drama they had.”

Another said that the two could collaborate on a track titled, “Bad Bish ft. Nicki & Kendrick.”

“If the rumors are true of Katy and Taylor performing together at the @vmas, then I’m going to cry because I’ve always wanted this,” another person tweeted.

Is Taylor Swift even attending the awards show?

With Perry set to host the yearly awards show, it’s hard to think that Swift wouldn’t be a bit hesitant to expose herself to potential drama with her fellow singer and according to Hollywood Life, there is absolutely no confirmation quite yet regarding her possibly upcoming appearance at the show. That said, it is certainly a possibility.

The 2017 MTV Video Music Awards will air on August 27.
