After a week and one day of testimonies, statements, and deliberation, the jury has finally come to a verdict in the Taylor Swift sexual assault trial. After a long day on Monday, August 14, the Jury has sided with Taylor Swift in her countersuit against former Denver DJ David Mueller.
The singer countersued Mueller for groping her during a meet and greet in 2013. He is required to pay Swift $1. After the reading of the final verdict, Swift embraced her mother with relief. Not only that, but we know that several Swifties took the news to Twitter with a huge weight off their shoulders, knowing that this is all finally over.
After the verdict was announced, Swift released a profound statement.
Baldridge also made some remarks in an interview after the Swift victory.
Swift and her attorney, Baldridge have stated plenty of times that this trial isn’t just for Swift but it’s for everyone who has been sexually assaulted and felt like they couldn’t speak up. This trial is something that could make a difference in the lives of many.
It takes someone incredibly brave and courageous to speak up, and Swift did that. Certainly, this is a victory and proves that the singer is an inspiration, a voice, and a role model for everyone.
Congratulations Taylor on your resounding and impacting win. We are proud of you and commend your bravery and courage during these past several days. You inspire us all.
