After glowing reviews for its first season, Netflix has announced GLOW season two and we are stoked to see these gorgeous ladies of wrestling again.

Rejoice! Netflix announced on Thursday that it’s giving GLOW a second season! When the series returns, it will have 10 brand new hour-long episodes to binge. GLOW is a hit with audiences and critics alike. We loved it so much we ranked our favorite wrestlers, chased similar content, and gave it a glowing review of our own.

In 1986, Max Climber created the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling league and televised it for a short period of time. Netflix took the concept and ran with it to create a fictionalized version of events in GLOW. Boasting an ensemble cast made up mostly of powerful women, Netflix’s GLOW tells is a wrestling dramedy with relatable plot lines and hilarious one liners. It also deals with tough issues like abortion, infidelity, and miscarriage, without shying away from the consequences.

Alison Brie is often billed as the premier star of this series for her portrayal of struggling actress Ruth Wilder. However, GLOW‘s biggest strength is the way it utilizes its ensemble. Though the first season tried (and often failed) to flip racial and gender stereotypes on their heads, GLOW season two has the potential to iron out these issues. If it does, it will do even more work for better representation of women on TV.

Netflix has been heavily criticized for some of its recent cancellations.

The streaming service gave the axe to Sense8 and The Get Down earlier this year. Although GLOW has its first-season hiccups, renewing it is a step in the right direction.

GLOW joins three other Netflix original series to premiere this year and be almost immediately renewed. That isn’t surprising. Orange Is the New Black creator Jenji Kohan is one of its executive producers, after all. Kohan works alongside Tara Hermann and show creators Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch.
