Josh Brolin’s Cable for Deadpool 2 definitely looks like Cable
Anyone who saw Deadpool seriously hoped for Cable to show up. Or hints to be dropped. He’s coming in the sequel, and he looks pretty darn good.
Deadpool’s post-credits scene involved a Ferris Buller’s Day Off homage. While it poked fun at Samuel L. Jackson’s post-credits Iron Man cameo and post-credits scenes in general, it gave us hope for Deadpool 2, if ever it became a thing.
They played it off like a joke, with the casting of Cable needing to be anyone big with a flat top. And that included Kiera Knightley, because she has the range and could totally pull it off.
Then they cast Josh Brolin, who will also be Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War in the same year. While it’s not a bad casting, fans had their hopes built around their dream castings, and this wasn’t it.
Well, now we have our first look at just what Josh Brolin’s Cable will look like. Check out Ryan Reynolds’ tweets below:
I’m not going to lie, he looks pretty badass. Which is exactly what Cable is. “Grumpy, heavily armed Uncle” also perfectly describes the character.
If you don’t know much about Cable, he’s a time-traveling soldier with a bionic arm and eye, and he gets paired up with Deadpool for a fair amount in the comics. They have several of their own series together, and this super fun scene in Deadpool: The Game (warning for bad language!).
Which means the banter and quips in the next film will be even crazier than the first. Josh Brolin is an actor who can pull off a lot of different things. I have no qualms about him pulling off Cable.
The next question is: How much time travel will this movie have?

He’s no Keira Knightley, but he should still be pretty good. Deadpool 2 hits theaters on June 1, 2018.
