2. We’ll get a status update from the Wall
As Jon talks to Daenerys about what Bran’s seen, there’s a tracking shot of ravens flying over what appear to be wildlings or members of the undead army. (This isn’t necessarily mutually exclusive; check out these spoilery photos to see more of what we mean.)
In fact, Jon explicitly mentions Eastwatch-by-the-Sea, one of the castles on the Wall that actually has people in it (specifically, there are wildlings there. With a shot like that, we may very well see them encounter the undead. Will the castle itself actually fall?
Now that might not happen…yet.
Spoilers:
Winter is Coming, our sister site, speculated that Jon Snow will go beyond the Wall in time for episode 6, based on who was where when while the season was filming (and yours truly has written jokes about it). As implied by the name, Eastwatch is a port castle, one that Jon could conceivably sail straight for. Yours truly, here at Culturess, has talked about this trip a lot.
- Here’s Kit Harington in Iceland…
- and discussion about who goes with him…
- and speculation about who else is up there…
- no, seriously, there are a lot of people who might be up there…
- including dragons, maybe…
- and someone else we haven’t seen for a while…
- and jokes about direwolves. (Hey, jokes are jokes.)
