Ever wonder why Ronald Reagan hates Camp Firewood so much? Well don’t worry, Wet Hot American Summer answers that and more with episode 7!
The seventh episode of Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later raced the clock of Reagan’s nuclear bomb. The campers had to try and beat the bomb to save the camp! And, boy, was it exciting.
First of all, the campers were at the dance and Katie and Coop were fighting since Katie didn’t really want to be with Coop after all. But more than that, Gene, Jason Schwartzman, Mitch, and Eric all make it back to camp and know that they have to stop the nuclear bomb in order to save everyone.
The biggest twist of all? The mole inside of Camp Firewood was Nancy the nurse all this time. That’s right, our trusted friend Nancy was no friend at all. In fact, she ends up snapping the neck of Gene by the end of the episode after Gail comes back to save him. It’s okay though, Gail went full ninja and literally beats Nancy to death.
All of this is happening while we realize that Ronald Reagan wants to blow up the camp because he is, in fact, little Willie Sh*ts His Pants. The old story campers used to tell each other so they wouldn’t embarrass themselves.
Reagan gets to redeem himself and decides to not blow up Camp Firewood but it is President Bush who changes the codes and is forcing the campers to find another way to stop the bomb. What’s going to happen? Will Camp Firewood survive? Well, we have one more episode to find out.
