California congresswoman Maxine Waters isn’t here for her colleagues’ shady behavior. Rep. Waters’ empowering exchange with the treasury secretary last week and its resulting web waves land her our Wonder Woman of the Week crown.

Here’s to fierce ladies standing their ground. California congresswoman Maxine Waters earned our Wonder Woman of the Week title this time around for a viral moment that represents so much more.

In case you missed it: In an exchange with Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin last week, the democratic congresswoman pressed the secretary as to why he’d never responded to a letter she sent back in May about the whole Trump-Russian ties thing. Mnuchin wasn’t super forthcoming and Waters responded by repeatedly stating that she was “reclaiming her time.”

The clip of the meeting and the phrase “reclaiming my time” itself quickly spread to all corners of the internet—as things like this tend to do, and it became a sort of rallying cry for not only Waters and holding those in power accountable, but for the way women are talked over and treated by men every day. #ReclaimingMyTime was trending, tweets and memes were plentiful, and there was even a gospel song created in Waters’ honor.

On Friday, the congresswoman made headlines again for an interview she did on MSNBC’s Morning Joe in which she referred to the president as “the most deplorable person [she’d] ever met in her life.”

Of course not all headlines regarding that news were positive but her fierce commitment to her principles and her refusal to be silenced is clearly something to be admired.
