The Camp Firewood gang is back with Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later and we have our review of the first episode!

The first episode of Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later is exactly what we’d want it to be. A perfect reminder of the show and movie we love mixed with a great returning cast! And if you haven’t watched any of the Wet Hot American Summer series (franchise? It’s hard to explain), then you definitely should.

The first episode is simple: It’s a reunion. At the end of the movie, the campers talked about coming and meeting each other exactly ten years later at 9 in the morning. That’s August 18 and the show takes us to August 17, 1991.

From there, we see our favorites begin making their way back to Camp Firewood. Suzie has a new hot boyfriend (played by Jai Courtney) and they have to fly from Los Angeles. Lindsey is a hot news anchor, JJ works at a video store, and so on and so forth.

The big thing? Ben got a nose job and looks different. So different that he’s now Adam Scott. (Which is perfect for all us Ben and Leslie fans. We finally have Amy Poehler and Adam Scott reunited once more.) And lucky for us, Ben and McKinley are still together and they even have a cute little baby!

The only one who isn’t really back in this first episode is Andy (Paul Rudd) and honestly, what is Camp Firewood without the resident hunk? But from the trailer and everything we’ve seen, we know he eventually makes his way back to the camp we know and love!

At the end of the episode, when our favorite campers are heading to their bunks, JJ trips over something and sends a signal down to an underground bunk and it shows us that maybe, just maybe, our campers are free of the government control just yet.
