The emotional connection that some movies makes with the audience feels real. After the box of tissues is empty, viewers feel as if they too went through the experience. Terms of Endearment is one of those movies.

Terms of Endearment is the story of a mother and daughter. While their bond is strong, their relationship has ups and down. But, when the daughter needs her mother’s support, the mom is willing to give it. Through it all, their bond never broke. When faced with grave illness, the mother and daughter come together to support each other.

Part of Terms of Endearment was filmed in Nebraska. The University of Nebraska and the Lincoln General Hospital were featured in the film. The hospital is the location where Emma passes away.

Since hospitals may not be the best tourist destination, another famous Lincoln Nebraska landmark is featured in the movie. Leon’s Gourmet Grocer is a real grocery store. Located at 2200 Winthrop Road in Lincoln, the grocery store has been around for decades.

Leon’s Grocery can be traced back to the first version founded in the 1930s. The current location was established in 1953. Local residents were proud supporters of this business. The store was known for its customer service and quality.

Terms of Endearment was actually shot inside this grocery store. The current store may not appear exactly the same as the movie scenes. The grocery store is an important part of Lincoln, Nebraska community.
