Sometimes, true life stories are scarier than any creepy, insane fantasy that an author could create. Truman Capote’s book In Cold Blood chronicles the chilling tale of the Clutter family. The Holcomb, Kansas family was brutally murder by two ex-cons during a robbery gone wrong.

In Cold Blood was filmed in and around Kansas. The actual murder scene was featured in the movie. The Clutter family home in Holcomb has been a stop for entertainment fans and true crime enthusiasts.

First, this location is a private home and people should respect that fact. But those who are curious can drive past the home. At one point, the home was a museum, but it is no longer. Many fans still drive past it.

One story remains about the crime scene location. Some people believe that the house is haunted by Nancy Clutter, the family’s daughter. While previous residents have not confirmed any haunting, internet stories tell tales of seeing her ghost.

The movie did film in other Kansas locations. A few examples include the Finney County Courthouse and Garden City.
