Arizona: National Lampoon’s Vacation
Many of us have endured a family road trip. This article is basically about road trips. But, even the most well planned family road trip can hit a bump or two in the road. National Lampoon’s Vacation is an extremely funny movie about a family road trip gone awry.
Vacation chronicles the Griswolds’ quest to visit Wally World. In the epic station wagon, the family sets out across country to get to the famous theme park. Unfortunately, the trip and its many stops do not go as planned.
For many families, a trip to the Grand Canyon is a huge family trip filled with lifelong memories. The natural wonder of the world is a magnificent geological structure. One of the National Parks, the Grand Canyon offers numerous visiting activities. The park itself is quite vast and careful planning should be made prior to visiting.
One newer feature that is popular with families is the Grand Canyon Skywalk. Located outside of the National Park, the Skywalk is located on Hualapai Tribe land and is run by the tribe. For a fee, guests can walk out on the glass walk for amazing views of the Grand Canyon.
Another famous Arizona landmark featured in Vacation is the Navajo Bridge. This bridge is “one of 7 land crossings over the Colorado River. “ Originally known as the Grand Canyon Bridge, the name was changed in a 1934 decree. Today, the area has two bridges, one new and one old. Both span the river. If you have a fear of heights, don’t look down while driving across.
