Congrats are in order for both ZAYN and Taylor Swift. Their duet and collaboration “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever’ is now certified triple platinum by the RIAA.
The new certification is in the U.S. as sales continue to rise for the powerhouse duo and the hit song. The award for Swift and Malik was given in mid-July but was officially announced today, August 1. This certification confirms 3 million in U.S. sales units. Each unit is equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams.
Back in May, the track was certified double platinum, confirming 2 million in sales. This was issued on April 18, 2017. Since then, the track has continued to rise as a hit that will live on for months to come. The track has even peaked at No.2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and pop radio charts.
“I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” is nominated for an MTV VMA. Fans can vote for the song now right here. Here’s to hoping this powerhouse duo will take home the award they deserve. We are so proud of both Malik and Swift for this outstanding achievement.
We have to thank Zayn for considering Swift for the track. After all, it wouldn’t be the same without her. “I called her up,” Zayn explained. “She’d heard the song already; she liked it. I asked her if she wanted to be on it, and she was like, ‘Yeah.'” We are so happy she agreed.
