I love Harry Potter more than most but I think I love his sass the most of all. So we’re looking at the sassiest the Boy Who Lived has ever been.
Trying to pick out the moment when Harry Potter as the sassiest is like asking who your favorite child is. It’s hard because they’re all beautiful and amazing. But there is one moment that I particularly love more than anything in this world.
Why? Because it just exemplifies the way this boy thinks. In Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Harry’s son, who is equally as dramatic and sassy as his father, yells about how he sometimes wishes that Harry Potter wasn’t his dad.
A normal teen reaction to their parents, yes? Well, Harry, instead of being an adult, decides to reciprocate by yelling back at his son that he also wished that Albus wasn’t his son.
Yes, you read that right. A father told his son that he sometimes wished that he wasn’t his son. Why? Because Albus was sassy with his father. And, to me, that is the most Harry Potter thing that Harry has ever done.
He tends to lash out and then regret it but it was just so unexpected that I squealed when it happened in the book. Again, it’s not great. No father should ever say that to his son. But it still was just so very much like Harry that I was happy.
He’s a sassy boy, it’s why most of us love him, and for him to say that to his son is outrageous but also so very him. And so I thoroughly enjoyed his little snap especially since Ginny yelled at him about it later.
